operating consulting network, TOTAL
Business Consultants, which has been helping Australian businesses
to reach their profit and growth goals since 1981. He has over 20
years of consulting experience working on three continents.

Business Consultants has a consulting team based in Launceston and
Hobart, a market research field force and national partnerships
with a variety of consulting and coaching organisations.
The
firm's growth has been based on the development of intellectual
property by Owen Tilbury and his team. Software and printed materials
have been developed that puts into the hands of small and medium
sized businesses, the planning tools usually only available to larger
corporations.
Owen Tilbury was educated at Sydney University, achieving a Bachelor
of Arts degree and Diploma in Education. He undertook further studies
in Marketing in South Africa and has recently received the Diploma
for successful completion of the Company Directors' Course. He has
worked in North America, Britain, Europe, South Africa and Australia
in a range of roles including line management, strategic planning,
marketing, advertising/promotion, training and (for over 20 years)
business consulting.
He
has experience in working with and for businesses in manufacturing
(heavy engineering, TCF, plastics), retail, wholesale, tourism,
hospitality, agriculture, forestry, services (professional, business
and personal), information technology, finance and printing.
He
has worked in liaison with local, state and federal government agencies.
He was appointed by the federal government as a Business Network
Broker, a Supply Chain Partnership facilitator and a Value Chain
Management consultant. He has achieved the industry association
ratings of Certified Management Consultant (IMC), Certified Practicing
Marketer (AIM) and Qualified Practicing Market Researcher (MRSA).
He
was part of the Tasmanian team, which won the National Enterprise
Workshop in Business Planning. He won the Royal Australian Planning
Institute Merit Award for Community Planning. His firm won the CGU
Business Excellence Award (2005) for Innovation in Business.
He
is a director of companies related to his business, has been a board
member on several not-for-profit boards and consults widely to businesses
with board structures undertaking strategic planning and board reviews.
He has extensive experience in:

for organisations large and small, government and private.

and Growth Plans. He is the developer of the Profit and Growth
process and has facilitated P & G Plans with businesses all
around Australia.

Over the last decade Owen has been accredited by the federal government
as a Business Network Program broker, a Supply Chain Redesign
Partnership Program facilitator and a Value Chain Management Program
facilitator.

of a statewide team and links to national research field forces.

and Hospitality: Helen and Owen Tilbury ran a successful coaching
inn restaurant and gift shop for three years in Tasmania. Owen
was a tour operative in Europe for several years. They bring that

value chain design projects with clients such as Meadowbank Estate,
Golders Vineyard, Delamere Vineyard, Network Gaming Tasmania,

Owen worked in retail store and marketing management for three
years with Edgars Stores, South Africa's largest family clothing
chain. He ran a store with $2 million turnover and headed up the
company's Sales Promotion Department. He also held the position
of Assistant Advertising Manager. During his career with advertising
agencies in Tasmania he handled many of Tasmania's name retailers
such as Jenerick Warehouse, Cooper Automotive, David Johnstone
& Associates, Langworthy Pty Ltd, Charles Davis, Supa Value
supermarkets and Eastlands shopping Centre. He has lead major
business improvement projects with Tasmanian clients such as Loughrans
and nationally with FujiFilm Australia, distributors of Fuji Film
products and equipment.
- Information
technology: Owen has been involved in the introduction of
e-commerce into businesses around Tasmania. He has also lead business
planning projects with high technology firms nationally such as
Dataplex, Hanimex Australia, I-Pharmacy and Destination.Tas.
- Finance:
The firm has conducted business and strategic planning activities
at a corporate and branch level with financial institutions such
as Savings and Loans Credit Union, Island State Credit Union and
