The
Profit and Growth programme is an Australian business improvement
process that gives you systems to identify the extra profit
in your business - and to help your business grow sustainably.
It involves a cross section of managers and team-members,
who analyse the business, create Action Plans and then systematically
make the changes that improve the business.
A
major benefit of the process is that it can attract FREE government
incentives that make it either free or very low cost. It can
be conducted one to one with SMEs or cascaded through larger
organisations. It can be conducted in groups (all working
on separate laptops) for specific industries or channels.
It involves a structured planning process then 8 months of
plan implementation support thus ensuring excellent bottom
line tangible results. There are customised Profit and Growth
Plan programmes already developed for manufacturing, retail,
tourism, hospitality, financial planning, pharmacy, professional
services and aged care.
Your Plan is built through a time effective program that includes
three separate one day workshops (over 6 weeks):
Workshop
#1. Using
user-friendly software you analyse: organisational
strengths and weaknesses; financial strengths and weaknesses;
sales by product and customer; gross
margin (Activity Based Costing) for each product/service;
threats from competitors and P.E.S.T.
issues (political, economic, social and technological). An
internet based Customer
Survey is carried out after this workshop to
get detailed insights into how customers view the business
compared to its competitors and provides comments on improvements
and extra sales opportunities. The data analysis is used to
create a SWOT analysis that summarises the current strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities and threats for the business.
Workshop #2. Managers
and staff use the SWOT to set the specific, time-based business
Aim and objectives along with targets for selling specific
products/services to specific customer groups. Then Action
Plans with objectives, tasks, resources, responsibilities,
and time-scales are developed for each major objective set
in the business Aim. This process is assisted by two creative
Opportunity Searches that generate hundreds of cost
cutting and sales initiatives.
Workshop
#3:
The final step is to prepare three year
profit and loss, cash-flow and balance sheet budgets. The
team use BudgetPro!, an Excel based budgeting tool, developed
by this firm to simply but rigorously project the impact of:
sales increases by product and service; purchases
linked to sales; direct costs and overheads flowing
from the Action Plans (extra staff? extra promotion? extra
technology? etc); capital expenditure and new purchases
of equipment (if needed) along with the financing of these;
changes to the balance sheet; timing of income
and expenditure. Budgetpro! also calculates the valuation
of the business and future financial ratios.
Implementation:
They say that "planning is hard
but implementation is hardest" so we offer ongoing support
for 8 months to ensure the successful implementation of Plans.
We use a Rational Decision Making tool to select the
highest priority projects then create a Business Dashboard
of measures that the business needs to calculate monthly to
see if it is on-track and the improvements are occurring.
We
facilitate monthly implementation and coaching sessions
to give hands-on help with marketing and organisational
improvement actions. We might help with marketing materials,
co-ordinating marketing campaigns, development of internal
systems and organisational improvement. Once one set of Action
Plans is complete we help select another set and the process
continues.
You
also select two one day workshops to up-skill management
