Recent
Results Industry Clients Have Achieved
|
“Through
the Profit and Growth Programme we have undergone an organisational
re-structure, and set up concise governance policies. We have undertaken
a detailed product analysis which for the first time gives us a
precise cost of production for every single product we manufacture,
and enables us to automatically update cost increases from suppliers.
We have also introduced several marketing initiatives including
e-commerce and telemarketing. With the aid of a database expert
introduced to us by TOTAL
Business Consultants, we are currently integrating our sales and
marketing database with both our accounting software and sales tools
of our sales representatives, giving us far greater analysis and
reporting control.
We
have gone from break even for the first half of the financial year
2003-2004 to a 21% net profit at the end of the financial year –
an average of 42% net profit in the last 6 months. Sales targets
were achieved and we were well on track to reaching this year’s
target, up $300,000 on last year’s.
This
program was a wise investment in the future of our business. A sincere
thank you to the TOTAL
Business Consultant Team for their professionalism and expertise." |

| “The
Profit and Growth was of great assistance in our developing lateral
strategies to maximise use of in-house capabilities and draw on outsourced
resources. The Board and management now have a clear corporate direction.
We measure monthly progress against marketing and operational Action
Plans for all product groups and make changes as needed. Sales are
up 3.6% on budget, on the back of a 27.7% increase in material throughput.
So we’re decreasing costs and increasing sales volume. This
has led to a >$250,000 turnaround, with budgeted losses for October
having turned to solid profit month after month. We expect 2004/05
sales to grow by 50% again, on top of last year’s growth”

“Your
process has helped us keep our operational people focussed on what
they need to do to succeed not just today but in the future, and
given the corporate management group a discipline for reviewing
where and how we are going. We never had that before – and
it works!”

| “Using
Profit & Growth we have analysed our business in greater depth
than ever before…We are also formally doing market research
with our customers for the first time! All of this will lead to a
Profit and Growth Plan with Profit Goals, Action Plans and financial
projections, which will help guarantee our future profits and success.
And at the same time the process is proving a great way to involve
and up-skill my managers and staff.” |

| “The
Plan moved us from a negative to a positive view for the whole business.
Our move to new premises has saved us over $50,000 annually and reduced
our stock holding by $60,000. Our stock turns have gone from 3-4 up
to 8 per year. Business in December was 23% better than any time in
the past. We were going to use the Plan to get extra bank finance
but with profits going so well we don’t need to. What a turnaround!
We
would be happy to recommend TOTAL Business Consultants to future
clients as we are TOTALLY satisfied with your service and ongoing
assistance. |

"All
equity partners are now in place and financing/banking facilities
are ready to be signed off…The business plan…was invaluable
in terms of putting in place the shareholders, State and local government
assistance and banking facilities." |

| "The
business plan we prepared, using your One Day Plan templates has been
extremely well received by all that have read it. Many of our investors
have invested on the basis of the high level of professionalism. Comments
included, 'easy-to-understand, the plan flowed from start to finish,
all questions were answered'. This made the investment decision one
of 'how much?' rather than 'yes or no?'" |

“The
TQW Board wishes to express their appreciation to you … for
the excellent way you developed and led our TQW Supply Chain Partnership
project. The demand chain developed clearly has the possibility
of becoming the model for the Australian wool industry to move from
a commodity seller to a demand chain supplier. The project was clearly
worth the twelve months we all contributed.”

“The
profit and growth program enabled us to very positively work through
some challenging issues in our business. Without the program we
would have experienced great difficulty and no doubt some conflict.
The outcome was a tighter, leaner business with improved internal
systems, comprehensive monitoring programs and a clear direction
agreed by both partners. Two years down the track and we would
do another course without hesitation.”

- A
best practice process, using workbooks and various tools, that
works at the level of our factory floor staff and at the level
of our management both senior and middle.
- Well
developed facilitation and motivational skills, which have helped
us to make better decisions through the involvement of our people.
-
Full accountability for the company's achievement of its goals

| "We
are now well into the second round of strategic planning, probably
the first time in recent history of the organisation where we have
used the same planning process in two successive years. This alone
is testament that the process is robust and … satisfying our
needs." |

“WOW!!!
Instead of leading the team myself, I now have the whole team fully
conversant with the operation and understanding of the company.
The programme increased awareness of the many aspects of running
a small business, our vision, mission, goals and targets became
valid as well as staff becoming much more aware of the operating
costs.
In
the past twelve months we have improved visitation by 10% and average
spend by almost 25% by simply carefully analysing marketing plans
and growth areas identified in the plan.” |

“Without
the business plan and the professional assistance given to us using
the Profit and Growth plan process we would not have been successful
in securing a grant from the New Industry Development Program. We
can now go forward and work with Coles to make our new product national.” |
Lorraine
Mance, GM, Westhaven Specialty Dairy Products
|
| “We
did the Profit and Growth planning workshops because too often farmers
just have their plans in their heads. We involved the whole family
in the workshops and making our plans. We felt we needed the benefit
of an outsider’s view of our business and to help us think differently
about what we had been doing. We also saw the group as a chance to
interact with other farmers and bounce ideas around.
The
Profit and Growth program is good value for money. The savings I
made from just one idea I got from the first workshop paid for our
course. FarmBis funding of course makes it even more affordable.”
